The Kuwaiti emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah said all Middle Eastern nations, including Iran, have a right to have a civilian nuclear program within the framework of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations.
On Sunday at an Arab League summit in Sirte, Libya. He said, “We are following up the developments in regard to Iran’s nuclear program,”
The Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas quoted him as saying. “We insist on the right of Iran and other regional nations to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes within the framework of IAEA regulations”.
“In the meantime, we ask the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to international efforts to work out a political solution [to the nuclear issue] and ensure peace and stability in the region,” the Kuwaiti emir stated.
He also asked all regional states, including Israel, to follow suit.
