Hillary Clinton’s visit has a purpose.
United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, arrived in Pakistan with an agenda the goal of which was to urge the Pakistani government to step up counter-terrorist activities. Turmoil is banal in Pakistan as the people are fed up with all the haphazard suicide bombings and bumbling policies of the government. Though Hillary spoke of how Pakistan was the United State’s partner in the war on terror, yet she goaded the government representatives to do more to quell the infamous terrorist threat.
The killing of Bin Laden in a Navy SEALs operation in Abbotabad came as a shock to the world. This included Pakistanis who didn’t know that the mastermind behind Al-Qaeda was safely ensconced in a building in Abbotabad. Hillary Clinton held sessions with President Asif Ali Zardari and General Ashfaq Kayani not to mention the ISI Head, Ahmad Shuja Pasha. The gist of the message America has given Pakistan is that a lot more needs to be done and that there is always room for improvement.
