SRINAGAR: At least 12 protesters have been killed and 70 injured in violence in occupied Kashmir clashes with indian troops. The police said the clashes started by a report that said a copy of the Quran has been desecrated in the United States.
The death toll on Monday was the highest in the last three months of separatist protests in the disputed region.
Tens of thousands of anti-India demonstrators flooded the streets ignoring the curfew, and burnt government buildings and threw rocks at police stations.
