Pakistan, paying heed to the US directed attack on Al-Qaeda and Taleban elements in North Waziristan, has decided to step up its confrontational attitude with the rebels and fanatics in the region. A hotbed of anti-state partisans of extremism the area has been hit before yet its inhabitants refuse to give in.
There still remain many months before a full-scale operation will pinpoint the culprits in North Waziristan. But the Pakistanis are fed up with the fundamentalism and fanaticism that has struck at the very core of Pakistani society destroying all signs of peace and order. For all purposes, talibanization appears to have met its final foe.
