On Thursday, three Nato soldiers were killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan, the alliance announced, making total number of personnel killed so far this year 584.
The US-led Isaf, the International Security Assistance Force said the attack was in western Afghanistan but released no other details.
There are American, Italian, Lithuanian and Spanish troops based in Nato contingents in the west.
Six US soldiers were killed in attacks on Wednesday and four Italian soldiers in a single bombing in western Afghanistan last week.
Today’s deaths brought to 584 the number of foreign soldiers killed this year, overshadowing the previous record of 521 in 2009, according to an independent website icasualties.org.
