The official WAM news agency reported that Gallup, which is a global opinion research organization is to open a research centre into Muslim opinion in the United Arab Emirates.
On Sunday, WAM said: “Building on Gallup’s seminal work in the field of Muslim studies, the Abu Dhabi Gallup Centre (ADGC) will offer unmatched research on the attitudes and aspirations of Muslims around the world”.
Referring to the 6-nation grouping of wealthy Gulf Arab states, WAM said that ADGC will also focus on “the most important societal challenges facing the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council”.
Dalia Mogahed, who currently heads the Gallup Centre for Muslim Studies and who will be ADGC’s director was as quoted as saying: “Our vision is for the Abu Dhabi Gallup Centre to be a major source for cutting-edge research and foresight on the most important challenges facing Muslim societies today”.
Abu Dhabi Gallup Centre is to open later this year in partnership with the court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
