For those who want to fly the Qatar sky, the deal is on!
Qatar Airways recently ordered six 777 Boeing Jets for its air fleet. The $1.7 billion package was sealed at Le Bourget (France) on the occasion of the Paris Air Show. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker confirmed the report. Boeing has already delivered 25 similar aircraft in the past and plans to deliver 15 more in the future. Qatar Airways is one of the major clients of the Boeing Corporation.
No doubt this action will improve the quality of flight and air travel in Qatar. There has been a slight delay in the deliveries much to the frustration of Al-Baker in whose words “significant delays will dent our expansion and fleet placement program.” But as the saying goes “better late than never.”The refurbished and renovated aircraft are said to be 15% more fuel-efficient.
The aircraft are very fine and will serve Qatar well. Qatar is already undergoing an economic boom and with the purchase of these sky-worthy planes it has added to its pre-existing capital.
