Terrorists target Pakistan naval aviation base.
Pakistani Taliban terrorists stormed the naval aviation base in Mehran, Karachi in the most vicious attacks since the death of Osama bin Laden. It was in reaction to the actions taken against the Al-Qaeda leader, who was killed in a secret US mission in Abottabad about a month ago.
In the words of Ahsanullah Ahsan, the head of the terrorists sent to bomb the naval aviation base, “It is in revenge for the martyrdom of Osama bin Laden. It is proof that we are still united and powerful.” Fifteen to twenty militants entered the base around 10:30 pm on Sunday. In retaliation, over 30 troops infiltrated the base and the battle rages on.
Five people have been killed in the attack and at least 11 have been wounded. The terrorists toted hand grenades, rocket-propelled grenades and guns. They were said to have entered the base from the rear.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has condemned the attack.
