The Afghan border is being infiltrated by insurgents.
Pakistan is fighting a losing battle with militants. Ever since the war on terror, suicide bombers and dissident elements have plagued Pakistani society. Islamabad has stepped up action on all fronts to end this menace but the guerrilla nature of the enemy makes eradicating the scourge a difficult if not impossible task.
Recently, roles were reversed when it was Islamabad which urged the Afghan government as well as NATO to do something to end the strife on their own end. Over 400 militants which include some of the most dangerous terrorists have infiltrated via the porous border crossing of the Northwestern area. Since Thursday 35 militants, 25 soldiers and 3 civilians have died in clashes between pro-state forces and anti-state elements.
