On Tuesday. Officials from the Palestinian parties announced that the talks will take place on November ninth.
Ismail Radwan, a Senior Hamas official showed hope that the meeting would “achieve reconciliation and restore national unity on the basis of national principles and political participation.”
Azzam al-Ahmad of Fatah also confirmed the meeting in comments carried by the Palestinian Authority’s official Wafa news agency.
The 2 sides had earlier planned to meet on October 20 but prorogued it following a row amongst the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority and Syria and Fatah’s ask to change the locale.
The meeting in Damascus comes after various rounds of talks with the feuding cabals hosted by Egypt.
Sami Abu Zuhri, the Hamas spokesman said next week’s talks would focus on “outstanding issues such as security, with mutual determination to leave with an agreement that will allow us to sign the Egyptian document.”
